Halitosis: When You’ve Tried Everything, Is There Anything Left?

We all have been victimized with bad breath . Sometimes just a quick brushing or gargling mouthwash can help end it. But in some cases, that is not enough. There are ample of other ways to fight halitosis other than the traditional methods.
If you happen to be the person with bad breath (halitosis), after you’ve tried the usual recommendations, you might notice some reduction in bad breath. But it is not unusual for these remedies to last only for a short time. Some remedies may provide even better reductions in bad breath then others. If this is one of your struggles, try some of my recommendations and see if you notice any improvements with your bad breath:

Try brushing your teeth with a combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. You will feel the hydrogen peroxide start bubbling in your mouth because it is adding oxygen. Adding oxygen can kill the anaerobic bacteria living in the mouth where no oxygen is located. Always remember to brush the back of your mouth as well. This kills the bacteria (odor) in the back of the mouth where the odor originates from. If you don’t happen to have access to hydrogen peroxide, even just a simple swish and spit with plain water can help, by loosening any food particles that remain stuck in the teeth after a meal. However baking soda can be so effective, many toothpastes now contain baking soda as an ingredient.

Invest in a water pick. When using a water pick, the pressure from the water helps loosen the food particles that are hiding between teeth. Water picks can be helpful with getting food out of hard-to-reach areas, and acts as a supplement to flossing. Be sure to continue flossing though, even if you do have a water pick.
